Introduction
The Grippin’ Breeze is a rock’n’roll and rockabilly trio from Rauma, Finland.
Musical influences are taken mostly from 1950’s American rock’n’roll, rockabilly, rhythm’n blues and country music.
The band has no needs to copy anyones styles, sounds, arrangements or other stylistic things like clothes etc. But if the original tune is good enough, there’s no need to change that either.
What feels right, feels good and gotta whole lotta soul in it….it can’t be wrong.
The group has been playing all around Finland in many kinds of happenings. Repertory consists of over 100 tunes.
Grippin’ Breeze has recorded three albums and all of the material in those is from their own production.
Biography
Grippin’ Breeze was formed in spring in 2004. Allthought influences are mostly from 1950’s, the band is not afraid to take some modern touch to tunes if it feels right. This is heard especially in their own material, where you can hear sounds of all American roots-music and a little bit something else too. Grippin’ Breeze is over 10 years old, and there’s some musical movement in line-ups, sounds and material. Nowadays the group is heading back to basics and sounds more traditional than ever. This is what the band can do best and it’s nice and fun to play.
Keep it steady, simple and enjoy the rockin’ ! Let others do the artistic parts 🙂
The first gig of the band was in spring in 2005. After that there has been about one gig per month all over Finland, but mostly in the west-coast. In the Gigs page you can see where the band has been.
